Pleomorfic adenoma in hard palate: a case report
Abstract | Introduction: The pleomorphic adenoma or mixed tumor is benign tumor of the salivary glands of major incidence, both as the largest as the minor glands. Its clinical findings include generally a solitary lesion, ovoid, with well-defined margins, no pain and slow-growing, not fixing in the adjacent tissue. Report: Patient F. V. S., 42 years old, female, white, complained of a “pit” that had appeared at some time and that had not yet gone. It was noted the presence of a round lesion with coloration a little more reddish that the surrounding mucosa, sessile, moderately soft at palpation, in the center of palate. Radiographically the bone structures were intact. Conclusion: The surgical treatment was performed with complete excision of the lesion, since the possibility of recurrence, not showed recurrence after four months of follow-up.

Resumo | Introdução: O adenoma pleomórfico ou tumor misto benigno é a neoplasia de glândulas salivares de maior incidência, tanto nas glândulas maiores como nas menores. Seus achados clínicos geralmente incluem lesões solitárias, ovóides, de margens bem delimitadas, indolores e de crescimento lento, não se fixando ao tecido adjacente.
