When it comes to teaching kids, computers are much more efficient than real-life teachers. Computers are better teachers than people! That's the news from a comprehensive study at the University of Michigan.
Dr. James Kulik , who headed the project says : " In more than 200 studies on computadorizing learning , 63 percent of pupils from computer classes scored higher than students who switched to computadorized classes significantly improved their grades ".
Their learning rate accelerated , too. Kulik explains why computers are better; "' They have two advantages over people . First , computers programs are created bt teams of specialists who put far more time and expertise into each course than any single teacher ever could. Second , computers, allow pupils to proceed at their own rate. Smarter pupils aren't helded by low learners, and slow pupils can learn without feeling they have to compete with smarter youngsters".
And Kulik adds ; " Computers can slash educational budgets by replacing incompetent instructors who have no aptitude for teaching. This would have only the best teachers to supervise larger classes of pupils working at computers would free the teachers to work with students who need individual guidance. In short, computers not only cut costs, they improve the teaching! "
