The Beatles was a British rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1960. Is the musical group's most successful and acclaimed history of popular music. [1] From 1962 the group consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass and vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar soil and vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals). Rooted in skiffle and rock and roll in the 1950s, the band came back later to take several genres ranging from folk rock to psychedelic rock, often incorporating elements of classical music and others in innovative and creative ways. Its growing popularity, the British press called "Beatlemania", made them grow in sophistication. The Beatles came to be perceived as the embodiment of progressive ideals and their influence extend into the social and cultural revolutions of the 1960s.
