No dia 1º de setembro de 1910 um grupo de operários no bairro Bom Retiro fundaram o Sport Clube Corinthians Paulista. O primeiro presidente escolhido por eles foi o alfaiate Miguel Battaglia, que, já no primeiro momento, afirmou: "O Corinthians vai ser o time do povo e o povo é quem vai fazer o time", por isso que é conhecido como o time do povo.
Em 1914 o Corinthians ganhou o seu primeiro título de campeonato paulista, que hoje já somam 27.
Dentre os títulos o Corinthians tem: 5 torneios Rio-São Paulo, 3 Copa do Brasil, 5 Campeonatos Brasileiro, uma recopa sul-americana, uma libertadores da américa e um campeonato mundial FIFA.
Atualmente o clube possui o mando de campo no Estádio do Pacaembu, que amanhã terá a despedida pois seu novo estádio está pronto e a partir do dia 17/05 começa a receber jogos.
