RESUMO

O presente artigo tem como objetivo indagar sobre as políticas públicas referentes à segurança pública na sociedade, mostrando conceitos e definições referentes ao tema. A importância da educação para os Direitos Humanos na formação e preparação dos agentes encarregados de aplicar a lei: o policial. O policial é o agente público que mais representa a manifestação do Estado na preservação da segurança e, mesmo agindo legitimamente, empregando a força, não pode negligenciar dos direitos fundamentais que procedem aos direitos do ser humano, a sua dignidade, estabelecendo os fundamentos para a relação entre indivíduo e Estado.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to inquire about public policies related to public security in society, showing concepts and definitions related to the theme. The importance of education for
Human Rights in the training and preparation of staff responsible for implementing the law: the police. The police is the public official who represents more than the manifestation of the state in preserving the safety and even acting legitimately, using force, can not neglectthe fundamental rights which come to the rights of human beings, their dignity, laying the foundations for relationship between individual and state.
