School Genre
The Swiss Bernard Schneuwly, teacher at the University of Geneva, psychologist and doctor of Educational Sciences since the 1980s, researches how children learn to write. His studies resulted in the creation of didactic sequences to teaching writing and orality. The concepts presented in this course material were slowly diffused in Brazil. In their research, Schneuwly puts communication at the center of the teaching of the mother tongue: "This is the most significant change: to give children more opportunities to read, write texts, learn grammar and spelling according communication" (Schneuwly, in interview to the New School).
Supported by Swales (1990), Adam (1990), Bronckart (1999) and Marcuschi (2002), who argue that the textual genres are "written or oral textual forms stabilized, historically and socially situated" and, yet, according Marcuschi, (2002:4), "are the texts we encounter in our daily lives and that have some functional properties and organizational characteristics, specifically made ", the ideas of Bernard Schneuwly about genres and types of speech and oral language are the National Curricular Parameters (PCN) and the notion of "Gender" became a common reference in research, curriculum proposals and practices of room during the Portuguese Language classes.
