O aumento da população idosa no Brasil, que segue uma tendência já ocorrida em países desenvolvidos, traz desafios cada vez maiores aos serviços e aos profissionais da área da saúde. As práticas assistenciais estão voltadas para os cuidados e a atenção aos idosos, uma vez que suas características físicas, biológicas e sua forma de viver em sociedade refletem na sua saúde. O material e os objetivos desta pesquisa e visar qual a influencia dos farmacêuticos na vida dos idosos. Devido ao uso de medicamentos com uso sem a orientação , muitos idosos correm risco de vida . Neste aspecto a atenção farmacêutica ao idoso é uma ferramenta para prevenir a automedicação e melhorar a eficácia do tratamento, garantindo assim o uso seguro dos medicamentos e a obtenção de resultados terapêuticos positivos.

The increasing elderly population in Brazil, following a trend already occurring in developed countries, brings ever greater services and professional health care challenges. Healthcare practices are geared towards the care and attention to the elderly, since their physical, biological, and their way of living in society characteristics reflect on their health.
