REFLETINDO SOBRE A SAÚDE REPRODUTIVA E A SITUAÇÃO DE INFERTILIDADE
Reflecting about the reproductive health and the infertility situation

RESUMO
Esta é uma reflexão sobre a situação de infertilidade dentro do contexto da saúde reprodutiva, analisando como ela passa a ser considerada uma “patologia”, necessitando assim de intervenção biotecnológica. Dentro desse contexto, a dificuldade em ter filhos conquista o mercado da indústria farmacêutica e faz surgir os Centros de
Reprodução Humana dentro da esfera da saúde privada, reforçando, mais uma vez, a concepção que a sexualidade e a reprodução são objetos da tecnologia –
“tecnologização”. Por fim, defendemos que toda ação para se alcançar o desejo do filho deve respeitar condutas éticas e também que a ciência e a tecnologia devem estar sempre à mercê do bem estar do ser humano, e não aprisioná-lo ou dominá-lo.

ABSTRACT
It is a reflection about the infertility situation inside the context of reproductive health, analysing how it gets to be considered as a “pathology” and therefore needing a biotechnological intervention. In this context, the dificulty of having a child conquests the market of the drug industry and Centers of Human Reproduction multiplicate within the field of private health. The conception that sexuality and reproduction are objects of the technology “technologization” thus becomes stronger. At last, we support that every action aimed at fulfilling the desire for a child must respect an ethical behavior as much as science and technology must always commit to the well-being of the human being and not to arrest it or to rule it.
