READING IN SECOND LANGUAGE WITH HELP OF INTERNET

Resume

The laboratories of foreign languages in universities are obsolete. The cabins that formerly isolated students with their individual phones and recorders, now give way to multimedia labs with Internet access. These new laboratories retire classrooms closed and isolated, to enable communication with the world, bringing into the school the possibility of interaction with native speakers or learners of the target language. Thus, a reality that was previously difficult to establish - to communicate with native speakers, now becomes possible and easy to access thanks to the opportunities that the Internet provides.

Introduction

The Internet first emerged in 1969 when the Department of Defense United States, observing the course of the Cold War and arms race with the USSR, and the need to share important information securely, created an electronic network - ARPANET. This network was designed to move, quickly, a large amount of data from one computer to another. Using electronic mail as the first and main tool, the time has enabled the transfer of text, images and sound through the WWW (World Wide Web). With the development of the Internet, a very large number of homepages have been created and resources for learning English eventually became much more diverse, attractive and sophisticated. Today, it is possible to read newspapers published worldwide in English.
