One of the most popular people in the world, Pelé, born as Edson Arantes do Nascimento in October 21 or 23 of 1940, is famous by your great soccer skills and by his great contribution as soccer player for the Brazilian and world soccer.
Dona Celeste Arantes and João Ramos do Nascimento’s son, Pelé born in Tres Corações (Minas Gerais) and moved with his family to Bauru ( São Paulo). The name Edson was chosen by his father in tribute for the great inventor Thomas Edison.
As a child expressed a desire to be a soccer player and with eleven years old, Pelé started play soccer in a children teenager team called “Canto do Rio” which the minimum age to play was thirteen. After, Pelé was invited to play on the principal children teenager Bauru team, called “Baquinho”. The same coach of Baquinho took Pelé to Santos F.C years later.
Pelé started his career on Santos F.C in 1956 and disputed his first international match with the Brazilian team ten months later. In 1960 was invited to play in a European team, but preferred stay on Santos F.C.
He was Brazil’s sports minister from 1995 to 1998 and approved changes on Zico law, which became known as Pelé law.
In 2000 Pelé was named the Best soccer player ever, ahead of the Argentinian soccer player Diego Armando Maradona.
After Pelé, the number 10 shirt is now used by the best soccer player of the team in any team in the world.
He just played on two team in all career: on Santos F.C (1956-1974) and on New York Cosmos (1975-1977), but in both of then he impressed all the world and made a lot of success.
He played for Brazilian team four times, in 1958 when he won a new nickname given by the French, “ The king of football” , in 1962, in 1966 when he played two of three matches and played his last match with Garrincha. Together they never lost a match by Brazil. And
