Resumo No ano de 1953, um grande acontecimento científico se concretizou: a descoberta da estrutura do DNA. No processo de elucidação desta, estavam envolvidos diversos cientistas, entre eles Rosalind Franklin, que trabalhava no King’s College, em Londres, na Inglaterra. Essa cientista teve um papel fundamental para o resultado apresentado por James Watson e Francis Crick em artigo publicado na revista Nature, o qual lhes rendeu o reconhecimento e o posterior prêmio Nobel. Todavia, Rosalind foi sendo esquecida ao longo da história e, atualmente, pouco se fala sobre sua contribuição. Partindo dessa situação, o presente artigo objetiva apontar as possíveis causas dessa falta de expressão atribuída ao papel de Franklin nessa descoberta que mudou o rumo da ciência.

Abstract
In 1953, a great scientific fact finally turned into reality: the structure of the DNAmolecule was discovered. Behind this event, there were many scientists involved, such as Rosalin Franklin, who used to work in the King’s College, in London, England. This scientist had an important contribution to the article published by James Watson and Francis Crick in Nature magazine, which turned them into famous and brought them the Nobel prize, in 1963. However, Rosalind has been forgotten through the history and, nowadays, just a few people talk about the projects she did. Therefore, this article aims to show up some possible reasons to the current lack of recognition that Franklin has about this discovery which changed the scientific knowledge.
