RESUMO
A Nanotecnologia é uma nova ciência que emergiu durantes estes últimos anos em vários segmentos, incluindo a área farmacêutica. Baseia-se no desenvolvimento, caracterização e aplicação de sistemas terapêuticos em escala manométrica, à utilização de novas formas farmacêuticas para a administração de fármacos, sendo esta área uma das mais promissoras, tornando a distribuição do fármaco mais seletiva e um aumento do índice terapêutico.
Os avanços da nanotecnologia têm contribuído para o diagnóstico e tratamento do câncer, aparecendo como um alternativo potencial quimioterápico com excelente razão terapêutica, pois apresentam maior sensibilidade às células tumorais.

ABSTRACT

Nanotechnology is a new science that emerged during these recent years in several sectors, including the pharmaceutical area. It is based on the development, characterization and application of therapeutic systems in scale gauge, the use of new pharmaceutical forms for administering drugs, this being one of the most promising area, making more selective delivery of the drug and an increased therapeutic index.
Advances in nanotechnology have contributed to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, appearing as a potential alternative therapeutic chemotherapy with good reason, since they have greater sensitivity to tumor cells.
