A elevação da carga tributária tem influenciado na competitividade das empresas, pois quanto maior a carga fiscal maior o preço de um produto. Nesse texto são elencadas as principais formas de tributação, mostrando o impacto sobre o resultado das organizações. À medida que se muda a forma de apuração de um imposto, altera também o resultado financeiro da empresa. As opções de apuração dos tributos pelo regime do simples nacional ou pelo lucro presumido correspondem aos procedimentos mais simplificados admitidos pela legislação atual. Por sua vez, o lucro real embora mais complexo, permite o aproveitamento dos benefícios de incentivos fiscais e o recolhimento do imposto de renda e da contribuição social, com base no lucro que de fato se obteve no período. Portanto, a análise das formas de tributação integra as atividades do planejamento tributário e serve como ferramenta para gestão de tributos em geral.
