Drugs are normally referring to either a drug as a substance used as a medication or a drug as something that is often an illegal material that causes addiction or a marked change in perception.
A drug, is any chemical substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters usual bodily function. Many natural substances such as beers, wines, and some mushrooms, blur the line between food and drugs, as when ingested they affect the execution of both mind and body.
Drugs, both medicinal and recreational, can be administered in a number of ways: * Orally, as a liquid or solid, that is absorbed through the stomach. * Inhaled, (breathed into the lungs), as a vapor. * Injected as a liquid either: intramuscular, intravenous.

There is also a type of drug that many children and adolescents use because its initial effect is excitement, followed by disinhibition, but that is followed by depression, this drugs are inhalants (varnishes, glue the shoemaker, gasoline, alcohol, lighter fluid, solvents, acetone, ether, and so on.)
Pharmaceutical Drugs
Pharmaceutical drugs are those drugs that are given under the supervision of physicians to cure various physical disorders. They are either prescriptive or non prescriptive. They can be sorted into three categories: * Over-the-counter (OTC): medications which are available in pharmacies and supermarkets without special restrictions. * Behind-the-counter (BTC): medications which are dispensed by a pharmacist without needing a doctor's prescription. * Prescription only medicines (POM): medications which must be prescribed by a licensed medical professional, usually a general practitioner.
