Democracia e Sociedade Civil no Brasil

Resumo: O artigo propõe-se a uma abordagem crítica do conceito de democracia e das relações entre Estado e sociedade civil. A produção científica na área das Ciências Humanas tem se aproximado de forma considerável da temática da sociedade civil e das questões de ordem democrática, tendo em vista os novos processos sociais e a nova configuração da participação política surgidas na virada do século. O trabalho pretende examinar as mudanças significativas no conceito de sociedade civil, desde os tempos da “abertura política” até os dias atuais, marcados pelas reformas do Estado e pelo pensamento social-liberal. Além disso, o que nos interessa aqui é problematizar a perspectiva teórico-metodológica que separa democracia e condições de vida, e da mesma forma, como consequência, sociedade civil e Estado, o que provoca uma mudança de fundo na forma de explicar tais conceitos. Democracy and Civil Society in Brazil Abstracts: The article proposes a critical approach to the concept of democracy and the relations between State and civil society. The scientific production in the humanities has come significantly closer to the subject of civil society and issues of democratic order, in view of new social processes and the reconfiguration of political participation emerged at the turn of the century. The paper intends to examine the significant changes in the concept of civil society, since the “democratization days” until the present day, marked by the reforms of the State and the social-liberal thought. Also, what interests us here is to discuss the theoretical and methodological perspective that separates democracy and living conditions, and in the same way as a result, civil society and State, which causes a fundamental change in the way of explaining such concepts.
