COOPERAÇÃO BRASILEIRA NO HAITI: DA CRISE POLÍTICA A CATÁSTROFE NATURAL

RESUMO

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a participação brasileira em dois momentos: de 2004 (ano de instauração da missão) e o andamento da mesma até a catástrofe de 2010 e a consequente mudança de direção no objetivo da missão que após o terremoto passou a ser a reconstrução do país.
Para fazer tal analise da cooperação brasileira para a estabilização e reconstrução haitiana, dissertará este trabalho sobre temas como: Brasil-Haiti: uma missão iniciada anterior ao sismo; A participação brasileira na reconstrução do Haiti; Intervenção brasileira no Haiti pós-desastre em 2010; Brasil–Haiti relações atuais.
Além disso, analisar-se-á os custos benefícios do engajamento brasileiro na questão haitiana. Os possíveis benefícios em longo prazo da liderança e participação brasileira em missões internacionais.

ABSTRACT

This study aims to analyze the Brazilian participation in two stages: since 2004 (the year of establishment of the mission) and the progress of the same until the disaster of 2010 and the consequent change of direction in the objective of the mission after the earthquake became the reconstruction the country.
To make such an analysis of Brazilian cooperation for the stabilization and reconstruction of Haiti, speaks this work on topics such as: Brazil-Haiti: a mission started before the earthquake; Brazilian participation in the reconstruction of Haiti, The change of Brazilian’s intervention in post-disaster Haiti in 2010; Brazil - Haiti relations today.
In addition, it will analyze the cost benefits of engagement in Brazilian Haitian question. The possible long-term benefits of leadership and Brazilian participation in international missions.
