Exhibition runs through October 23, 2011, open 24 hours Reception for the Artists will be held on Thursday, October 13, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm An Ethereal Cityscape in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, the Department of Recreation and Parks, the Pershing Square Park Advisory Board and Downtown Artists Space present the fourth season of the Art Squared Gallery.
Curator Stuart Noble has partnered with Mark Walsh at Downtown Artists Space to present “Public Order,” an exhibition of six up and coming artists who work in various media, including paint, wheat paste, collage, and spray paint. Steeped in local traditions, these artists have collaborated together and worked alone throughout Los Angeles in recent years.
The exhibition includes works by RTSYSTM, Septerhed, Destroy All Design, Cryptic, J.W. Pipen and Nomade. Each artist was commissioned to install one work in the 8.5’ square wall openings which border the eastern side of the plaza fountain; a prominent and highly visible location seen by thousands of people every week. The works were executed largely at Downtown Artists Space, a local collaborative art creation facility in Downtown Los Angeles.
The exhibition will remain installed through October 23, 2011 with an artists reception scheduled on Thursday, October 13 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm during the monthly Downtown Art Walk. *português
