O FORMATO “PDF” NA PRODUÇÃO E PUBLICAÇÃO DE ARTIGOS

RESUMO: Situado na perspectiva dos gêneros textuais, esse trabalho apresenta como o formato PDF
(Portable Document Format) está sendo utilizado para publicação de artigos científicos eletrônicos e impressos e como ele afeta possibilidades de escritura desses gêneros textuais acadêmicos. A metodologia empregada se constitui na seleção e análise de alguns periódicos e publicações da
Universidade Federal de Sergipe, disponíveis através da Internet. Os resultados comprovaram que o formato “.pdf” pode suportar características da Web 2.0, mas que atualmente isso não ocorre. Como fundamentação teórica, foram utilizadas as teorias sobre gêneros textuais de Bakhtin (1992), Koch
(2010) e Marcuschi (2005; 2008); Biojone (2003), sobre periódicos e publicações científicas; e, por fim, teorias sobre as tecnologias da Web 2.0 em O’Reilly (2011).

ABSTRACT: Situated in the perspective of genres, this paper presents how the Portable Document
Format - PDF - is being used for publication of printed and electronics scientific papers and how it affects possibilities for writing these academic genres. The methodology applied is constituted in the selection and analysis of some research journals and publications of the Federal University of Sergipe, available through the Internet. The results proved that the format "PDF" can support characteristics of
Web 2.0, but currently it does not. As theoretical foundation we used the theories of genres of Bakhtin
(1992), Koch (2010) and Marcuschi (2005, 2008); Biojone (2003), about research journals and scientific publications, and finally theories about the technology web 2.0 in O'Reilly (2011).
