Trabalho e ferrovia: cotidiano do trabalho dos ferroviários na cidade de Parnaíba-PI, 1950-1990.
Labor and the railroad: the daily work of the rail Parnaíba-PI, 1950-1990.

Resumo: O objetivo deste artigo é mostrar a trajetória profissional de ferroviários que trabalharam na Estrada de Ferro Central do Piauí, ferrovia que teve seu primeiro trecho de
24 km inaugurada em 1916, atendendo a população da região norte do Estado até os anos
1980. Nesse sentido, tomaram-se como principais fontes as entrevistas realizadas com cinco ferroviários aposentados e um locatário do restaurante do trem, além de documentação referente à vida profissional desses e de outros trabalhadores, pesquisados e digitalizados no acervo do Arquivo do Patrimônio da Extinta Rede Ferroviária Federal S.A, em São Luís (MA). A perspectiva deste estudo foi mostrar como esses trabalhadores significavam o mundo do trabalho na ferrovia e quais as relações existentes entre a empresa e os ferroviários.

Abstract: The purpose of this communication is to show the professional career of railwaymen who worked at the Central Railroad of Piaui, the railroad that had its first stretch of 24 km opened in 1916, serving the people of the north of the state until the 1980s. In this sense, were taken as the main source interviews with five railroad retirees and a tenant of the train's restaurant, and documentation relating to professional life and those of other workers, surveyed and digitized in the collections of the Archive Heritage Railway Extinct
Federal SA in Sao Luis (MA). The perspective of this study was to show how these workers meant the world of work on the railroad and the relationship that exists between the company and the railway.
