ABSTRACT

In this text we present a study of compaction of data, since the more simplistic technique till the more complex, taking in consideration just the compression methods without lost, by implicate in the total recovering of the original message a fact which is fundamental presupposed for comparison of the results before and after the compression. Correlated to this study there is a proposal archiver of academic data using one of the tecnic more sophisticated of actualities: the method of LZW. The object of this research is disseminate the knowledge of compression data about two angels: one of the theoretic point of view, demonstrating several algorithms of compression; the other more practical point of view, exemplifying the use of knowledge in the field of computer science though complete construction of the data archiver. Next, we present a resume of the theoretical fundaments inherent to the technology of compactation, the basic concepts and used technology, we boarded several algorithm compressors. Finally, we describe the whole documentation of the software analysis where the font code of the program will be exposed as annexed to the text.
