ABSTRACT
Project-management with emphasis on decision-support through the use of data-warehouse technology, theme of this paper, is based principally on the necessity of an efficient solution in order to achieve excellence in projectmanagement. By obtaining information rapidly in a structured form, project-managers will be able to identify problems with greater agility, and therefore will have more time to improve operational processes. The model proposed in this article consists of the creation of one unique database through the use of data warehouse technology in order to support managerial information requests with the Olap tool. This proposal is based on guidelines established using the project management institute (PMI) for project management, the capability maturity model (CMM) and a literature study about the use of information technology in project management.
The model is oriented towards the decision-making process. From data obtained from interviews with the tactical level and report-analysis, necessities and opportunities of management-information were indexed and analyzed based on the researched theory.
